THE AUTHORITY OF THE SON OF GOD

(Ephesians 1:18-23, 2:4-7, Luke 10:19, Matthew 16:18-20)

The bible tells us that Sons of God are seated at the right hand of God with Jesus Christ.

What does this mean?
To understand our position in full, we have to understand Christ’s position first. Look at Philippians 2:6-11
This verse tells us of how Jesus humbled himself. He became human, even though he was God. He died on the cross, and went to hell with his spirit man. God raised him from the dead, he returned to his body after three days. He was exalted far above all, He was taken back to heaven and sat at the right hand of the Father in heaven. The right hand of the Father is a position of the highest authority there is under God. He was given a name that is above all names, and at his name every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We will speak in detail about the death and resurrection of Christ when we get in to the topic of God.
One might say that what happened to Jesus was a good thing to him. But why did Jesus go through all this? It was for our sakes. Jesus had identified himself to us so that he could take part in what we are. He became like us so that we could become sons of God like Him. Jesus took our place so that we could be like Him (2Corinthians 5:21). While Jesus was on the cross, in Gods mind, we were with him, because he had taken our place. When he died, we died with him, when he was buried, we were buried with him, when he went to hell, we went with him, when he was raised from the dead, we were raised with him. When he was seated at the right hand of the Father, we sat with him. Now the son is seated at the right hand of God with Christ. This speaks of our position of authority in Christ. The bible reveals to us that we have a high position of power in heaven and on earth. All creation is under Christ and his church, which is us the sons of God (Ephesians 1:20-23). The right hand of God is the highest position of authority there is under God. This means that the church is subject to God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) only. Angels, demons in all their ranks and the devil himself and all of creation is under the church, the church is under Christ and Christ is under God.

The son of God works with the authority of the right hand of God even while he is on earth. He has been given this authority and it is in his spirit. When he commands sickness, death, demons and all that is not of God, they have to flee because he is above them in authority and power. According to bible language, A name represents power / authority. Example, the name HIV stands for its power, but Jesus has been given the name that is above all other names. So he gave us his name to use when we command as kings and when we pray as priests (John14:12 and John 16:23-25). When we know our position of authority, and begin to operate and speak from that position by faith, we will reign indeed in life. The fear of not succeeding, demons, sickness, death, witchcraft, poverty, etc, will not be part of our lives (Luke 10:19).
